BaptismBaptism is a public entrance of persons into a living body of faith – the Church. We strive to give our love, encouragement and support to those reborn into New Life in Christ through their baptismal vows. The clergy work with candidates, parents, sponsors and godparents through a brief series of classes in preparation for the sacrament of baptism. Memento gifts and a reception after the service are visual signs of our welcome and nurturing. Baptisms are performed at Easter, Pentecost (late spring), All Saints (early November) and Epiphany (January). ConfirmationConfirmation is a reaffirmation of one’s baptismal vows and a formal commitment as a member of the Episcopal Church. The rite of confirmation occurs when the Bishop makes an official visit to Trinity and also at several designated times throughout the year at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle. Classes are held in advance to help people prepare for this sacramental step. Christian FormationChristian Formation is a ministry to provide special retreats and other special programs for the parish, such as sacramental preparation, inquirers’ classes and educational offerings.
