Sunday School is held September through June with families beginning the service together in the sanctuary. Following the welcome and a special blessing by clergy, children ages three and older and their teachers are excused and convene downstairs in Merrick Hall for Godly Play and Bible study.

Godly Play is a Montessori-based curriculum that allows participants to experience faith building stories through intentional storytelling and imaginative wondering.  Teachers, all of whom are trained and certified volunteers, adapt the lessons to meet the needs of the varied age group in attendance each Sunday. Just as every child is different, they each bring and receive a unique perspective to the stories of our faith.

From time to time, we also welcome guests who instruct the whole group on a special aspect of the worship service, such as the altar, the Eucharist, bread making, or storytelling.

Following the lesson, the children return to the worship service during the offertory so they can receive communion with their families.
